Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23: Introduction
ATH-AN23 QuietPoint in-ear headphones reduce distracting background noise by up to 90% while offering the superior sound. Headphones use active noise-cancelling technology to reduce distracting background noise, providing an exceptionally comfortable and restful listening environment in areas with high ambient noise. These in-ear headphones feature a miniature microphone in each earpiece that picks up ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.). Electronics in the control box create a noise-cancelling wave up to 180 degrees. This wave acts like a noise eraser. It cancels out the annoying sounds that surround you without diminishing the audio you want to hear. The result, a peaceful domain to enjoy the music or movies of your choice
The battery life is up to 60 hours which is very good. ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint has high sound quality but mids are slightly emphasized. In the box, you’ll get Audio Technica ATH-ANC23 Earbuds, airline adapter, extra earbud tips of 3 different sizes and a carrying pouch.
ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint is extremely effective is noise cancellation. Electronics in control box create a noise-cancelling wave that is 180 out of phase with ambient noise-wave acts as noise erase. Noise distraction reduced up to 90%.
The ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint offer nothing out of the ordinary for a more comfortable or stable fit. The comfort level is therefore about the same as that of any other in-ear design, which means it varies from listener to listener, depending on the fit. Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23 are lightweight IEMs with a bulky design. This doesn’t make them uncomfortable, in fact, once you find the proper size of ear tips these are as comfortable as any other in-ear monitors. They’re stable enough for casual listening sessions and moderate physical activity but not enough for high-intensity exercises. Also, the long cable and control module can easily get hooked on something and pull the headphones out of your ears. After putting them one, turn on the noise cancelling and see that whole noise disappearing.
The build quality of Audio-Technica earbuds is very good. They are made out of plastic, but the high-quality kind that doesn’t break down in a few weeks. However, the plastic design of both the control module and the earbuds feels a little cheap and susceptible to wear and tear. The cabling is also thin and could have been more rubberized to increase durability.
Button layout and functionality is underwhelming. The control module has only two controls: A volume dial and an on/off switch for noise cancelling. There are no other controls, which means no call/music button or dedicated inline controls to skip tracks, which is disappointing.
The ATH-ANC23 are well balanced and sound great. They reproduce the lower harmonics of instruments and vocals accurately and have well-defined bass. However, the bass does lack a little rumble and thump and lead instruments, like guitars, are slightly under-emphasize but still sound good with most music genres. Harmonic distortion is rarely noticeable even at high volumes, which is a plus. This is where Audio-Technica are really good, especially considering the price. Richness of the bass and smoother, more natural sound. Low notes, male voices, and basslines all draw you into the music without any of the overbearing darkness or echoes heard in deliberately bass-skewed earphones. Soundstage is better than other ANC buds, so if you care about having that spacious sound, you’re going to like these. They also have more and better-quality bass than Apple’s standard Earphones, plus hugely better isolation. The earbuds don’t have a microphone for taking calls since mics are integrated into earbuds themselves. You control noise cancelling, called QuietPoint, with controls on the “box”. It is as simple as pressing a button and you get transferred to a more peaceful place.
Audio-Technica ATH-AN23 is a perfect set of headphone in highly economic price. The excellent battery timing and their stellar audio quality make them customers ultimate choice. if you are looking for a set of headphones with noise /isolation in economic price then it is a good choice.
