A great Gamer must have a great gaming headset as the Normal Gaming headphones may distort game music or destroy a best gaming experience. The microphone is another thing that, though not crucial, may annoy quite a lot if it picks up too much background noise or distorts your voice. Now, gamers can combine their gaming computers with a wide variety of best gaming headsets especially designed for PC PS4, and XboxOne to provide the best gaming experience. Do you know which one you’re going to choose?

Throughout the years the technology on the market has diversified, with new discoveries came several uses for them. This resulted in specialization in devices and gadgets that applied technology in a certain way for a certain use. From swimmer watches to DJ laptops we keep applying things to a specific area. Gamers as well have been enjoying laptops and computers with bigger RAM memories and more potent video cards, among other features. Yet the game sound has been a problem.

We have made a list of the best gaming headsets for Xbox One PS4 and PC to help you out. We have thoroughly analyze the following aspects: compatibility of gaming headsets with gaming consoles, microphone (when it applies), design and durability, comfort and sound quality.

Best Gaming Headsets in 2018 for XboxOne, PC and PS4:

1: Kingson’s HyperX Cloud II: Best Gaming Headset for 2018:

The HyperX Cloud II are one of the most used gaming headsets out there for various reasons. The word that best describes them is all-around. They are durable, comfortable, the on-ear headphones have good sound quality and the microphone has good recording quality. The best part of it all, the price is around $100. These are truly one of the best examples of value for money. It’s really no wonder they are recommended by professional gaming teams. They might not be high-end audiophile $300+ headphones but they won’t disappoint you.

Kingson’s HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset

The HyperX Cloud II do not require any additional software, so they are compatible with PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with the adapter. The cable has a 3.5mm plug and a USB adapter.

The microphone is better than the older version. The recording sound quality is better and it’s not too sensitive, so there is no chance of your buddies hearing your dog barking or your breathing. It isn’t very flexible but this works well with its low sensitivity. You can also detach it when not needed.

The headset is made with premium materials among which is an aluminum frame, making them durable. They are big and bulky yet very comfortable. The closed design does a good job at noise isolation and there is almost no sound leakage, so others can’t hear your game and can easily sleep nearby.

The headband is made with memory foam and you get 2 pairs of earpads one made of pleather and another of velour, both extremely comfy. You can definitely wear these for hours without worrying about discomfort.

This version has the feature of surround sound, which help the soundstage area. The positional accuracy can’t compare to real, high end soundstage headphones, though. Still, you can easily distinguish the direction a certain sound is coming from as the sound is clear and very detailed. They also fare well when it comes to music. The pleather earpads make the bass stand out, while the other ones balance out the sound. Keep in mind that these are not high end, audiophile models. As mentioned before there is very little sound leakage, and the noise cancelling is very good, both for the microphone and the headphones, cancelling echo and other annoying noise.

2: Sennheiser GAME ONE: Best PC Gaming Headsets:

The Sennheiser GAME ONE Gaming headsets are definitely worth considering. The comfort, the high quality microphone, and the fact that it can be used with most gaming platforms are just some of the reasons. You can expect a long life out of these, as well. However, they can be a little too bulky. They don’t have surround sound, just stereo, and you might need amplification to get the best sound quality. And, the biggest drawback, the price of over $200 without discounts.

Sennheiser GAME ONE - Best PC Gaming Headset

It’s compatible with PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 or older and with Xbox One. You don’t need anything else if you have the new Xbox One controller, but for older versions you’ll need to buy the Xbox adapter.

The headset feature a high quality microphone that produces very clear and detailed sound. However, it doesn’t pick up too much background noise. It’s not detachable, though, and bulky, which makes the headset hard to carry around.

Durability-wise they don’t disappoint, in fact they are on par with the premium Sennheiser PC 363D. They are made of strong, sturdy plastics that make them light, and don’t affect its durability. The noise isolation isn’t very good because of its open back design, but the sound quality and acoustics is very good. The GAME ZERO model are very similar to these but have a closed-back design that isolates noise better. The soundstage isn’t as good as these, though.

The cushioned, velvety-soft earpads might prove too big for some people, but, in general, they are very comfortable.  Because of their design the air gets in and your ear can actually breathe, that way you won’t wind up feeling too hot. You can wear this for hours without worries.

While they don’t have the virtual 7.1 surround sound that the HyperX Cloud II offer, the stereo and the acoustics are still pretty good. The soundstage is actually better when compared with other gaming headsets and it’s all due to the design. You will definitely hear everything you’re supposed to hear in a game and know where the enemy is coming from. The sound quality is very good in the game area, but might decide you need a good amplifier if you plan to listen to music.

3: Logitech G430: Best Stereo Gaming Headset:

Logitech is well known in the computer and technology area and the Logitech G430 offers great value for money. While not being spectacular at anything they are among the best headsets on their price range. This is only highlighted when you consider the surround sound feature you’ll get for a very affordable price. They are also very comfortable and can be worn for hours on end; and while the build might not last long if you’re too rough on them, when you avoid sitting on them, they’re actually pretty durable. If you’re looking to upgrade from your supermarket headphones these will definitely surprise you.

Logitech G430 Stereo Gaming Headset

This headset has a 3.5mm audio jack, a 3.5mm splitter, and a USB adapter, which makes it compatible with PC, Mac, Ps4 and Xbox One (whether you have the new controller or the adapter).

The microphone is unidirectional and has low sensitivity. This means it won’t pick up background noise but the noise cancelling feature can be a problem, and you can experience distortion or voice cutting if you didn’t set up the software correctly. Most of the time it works correctly, though.

The build is made thin plastic and steel of decent quality, but it doesn’t feel too durable. As long as you don’t plan on dropping them every five minutes you can probably expect a long life out of them. They have a closed design that’s good at isolating noise, keeping the environment sound out and your explosions in.

The frame is very light and it features swiveling earcups. The earpads and headband are made of memory foam and hence very comfortable.

To enjoy the Dolby 7.1 surround sound you will have to download the free software that also allows you to tweak the equalization settings. For PC and Mac this means a better soundstage, which helps distinguish from which direction the sound is coming from. The bad news is, when it comes to consoles, you’ll only have stereo. It has a good sound quality though, with a nice balance of highs, mids, and bass that fares pretty well with music.

4: SteelSeries Arctis Series 3/5/7:

The SteelSeries Arctis lineup of gaming headsets are all very similar with a couple of key differences. The Arctis 3 model has only analog connections and the surround sound is pretty great. The Arctis 5 has USB and 3.5mm cables, but the surround sound is only pretty good. And the Arctis 7 has all the previously mentioned cables as well as a wireless feature, and a great surround sound. They all have the same comfortable headband and earpad design, though. In general the best in the value for money area is the Artics 5.

SteelSeries Arctis Series Gaming Headset

These headsets are compatible with PC, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation, and other devices. The surround sound feature is only available for PC, though. Additionally the Arctis 3 has only analog connections, the Arctis 5 has both USB and standard audio jack cables, and the Arctis 7 has the same cables as the 5 model as well as a Bluetooth feature.

Each headset has a bidirectional, high quality, boom microphone that is also retractable, convenient for travelling and transportation.

These headsets feature a closed-back design that does a pretty good job at noise isolation. The headband is flexible and very easy to adjust. They look bulky but are actually not that heavy. The Arctis 5 also features RGB external lights that you can change. They are made of high-quality materials and are very durable. All headsets have earcup controls for the volume and to mute the mic. The only dilemma is the amount of cables you’ll have to keep a track of.

The padding around the earcups allow the ear to breath but are shallow and some users might feel discomfort. The headband is easily adjusted to any type of head. They’re not super light but the balance is good enough to be comfortable. Most user will be able to use these and even forget they’re wearing them.

When it comes to playing on a computer the sound (surround or otherwise) can be pretty good, if you leave it on the preset settings, or great, if you take the time to set things just the way you like them. This applies both for gaming and music. Also the soundstage is reasonably wide, whether you take the time to customize your setting or not. On all other devices the sound quality is actually pretty good and the design leaks very little noise.

5: HyperX Cloud Revolver:

HyperX Cloud Revolver have made another appearance to prove that you don’t need surround sound to have great positional accuracy. The Cloud Revolver, a headset made just to give you the best advantage in First Person Shooter games without the much coveted 7.1 Surround Sound. Just like their cousins, the Cloud II, these were made with long hours of playing in mind and have extremely comfortable earpads and a headband that adjusts automatically. They have a new steel frame, that makes them more durable, the microphone great at cancelling background noise, and their best characteristic is their clear and accurate sound quality that makes it easy to tell where the enemies are. Keep in mind though that they don’t fare too well with other games outside of what they were made for.

HyperX Cloud Revolver - Gaming Headset Under 100

The headset comes with the standard 3.5mm plug as well an audio box extension that allows you to mute your microphone, change the volume and provide separate headphone and microphone plugs for your computer.

The microphone is noise cancelling and only picks up very little sounds from the background. The recording quality is clear and without distortion. Also the microphone is detachable and easy to adjust.

The most noticeable features are the headband that automatically adjusts to your head and the metal frame that makes them sturdy and durable. The problem is you will hear the echo in your head if you hit this frame. As long as you don’t walk around much it won’t be an issue. Also the sound isolation is not very good.

The ear pads are very big, which could be a problem for some users, and really comfortable. The adjustable head band is made of memory foam and the headset can easily be worn for hours.

Sound quality is very good, focused on being detailed and clear. This is perfect for Counter Strike and for music as long as you don’t need a deep bass. Even though they lack the Digital 7.1 Surround Sound, their positional accuracy and the soundstage are actually slightly better than with other headsets.

6: Sentey GS-4730:

The Sentey GS-4730 headset is another great choice that has plenty of pretty good features and has a reasonable price. The leather earpads and the headband are pretty comfy, the frame is made of good quality materials, the microphone is reliable and pretty good, though omnidirectional, and it has great sound quality for games and fares pretty well in the music area (so long as you don’t demand the sound of high-end audiophile headphones). What sets it apart from the rest of the headsets is the vibrating earpads that make your games come alive when you play.

Sentey GS-4730 Gaming Headsets

They use a USB plug, which makes it compatible with PC, Mac and PS4. To use it with Xbox you’ll need an adapter. If your drivers are updated you shouldn’t need to install the software though you might still need to do so to make it work.

The microphone is omnidirectional, one of the drawbacks as it picks up all the sounds around you. The recorded sound is still clear and doesn’t distort the voice. The headset has a light at the tip of the microphone that tells you when it’s active or muted, which can become very distracting when playing in the dark.

The build is actually of good quality, making it very durable. They come in two colors, black GS-4730 and white GS-4731. Their design is closed and isolates noise very well, keeping you safe from the outside sounds. One of the special features is the vibrating earpads that respond to the bass, so that you’ll hear and feel explosions.

The earpads are made of pleather, which is very comfy but doesn’t not allow breathing. If you wear them for hours you’re bound to start sweating. The headband is very comfortable as well as firm, to keep the headset on without irritating.

The sound quality is very clear and you can actually feel the bass. The soundstage is better than with other headsets and depending on the game you’ll be able to know where the sound is coming from. The surround sound improves things a little but nothing too miraculous. In general, for games it does a great job, but a demanding audiophile won’t be very pleased with the sound for music. Your Average Joe should be pretty happy with it though.

7: Razer Kraken USB:

The Razer Kraken headsets are pretty popular and the Kraken USB model is no exception. It has a pretty decent microphone, though you might not want to use it for anything other than gaming. The headset will prove comfy for most with its padded head band and round earpads. They do not require a software but you can use Synapse 2.0 which is pretty easy to understand and will improve the sound quality a lot. With all the features mentioned before and the price of around $60, it’s no wonder these are very popular. The only true drawback is the USB connector that limits the compatibility.

Razer Kraken Pro USB Gaming Headset

If the name is not hint enough this headset uses a USB connector that is compatible with PC, Mac, and PS4. Any other devices might be compatible depending on the available drivers.

The boom microphone is unidirectional and actually sounds very clear, even if you don’t use noise cancelling technology. It can also be flipped up and out of the way when you’re not using it.

The design is closed-back and has pretty good isolation. The padded headband and the earcups both have padding. The materials they’re made with are pretty good, though not as high quality as other models. As long as you’re not too rough on them they should last a long time.

The headband is comfortable enough, though a little lacking in padding, and the round earcups might be a problem for users with big ears. It fits pretty well for most people, but if you wear glasses or have a big head they might be a little tight.

The sound has a little too much bass, but it’s nothing the software Synapse 2.0 can’t fix. There are two upgrade models available in this series with 40mm and 50mm drivers. The 32mm drivers in the Kraken USB are pretty good though. The extra bass is great for gaming but it might be a bit of a problem for music. The biggest drawback is the braided cloth cable cover which can cause microphonic noise when the cable rubs against something.

8: ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Gaming Headset:

Astro is well-known for making great, high quality gaming headsets and the Astro Gaming A40 TR model is no exception. If you can overlook the lack of surround sound you’ll find a headset that has everything you’ll need. Comfortable headband and earpads, that you can replace if they’re getting too worn down, a good microphone, which you can also change with a higher quality one, good compatibility, and pretty good sound quality. Plus, with the Mod Kits you can customize your headset to your liking. And if you’re still yearning for the better soundstage the digital 7.1 Surround provides then you can get the MixAmp Pro TR. But keep in mind that this elevates the cost.

ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Gaming Headset

They are compatible with all gaming platforms but you’ll need to buy MixAmp TR in order to use it with PS4 and Xbox One. For PS (3&4) you’ll need to get the Black MixAmp TR and for Xbox One you’ll have to buy the White MixAmp TR. If you want the surround sound you’ll need to buy a MixAmp Pro TR bundle.

This headset has two microphones, one is an in-line mic on the cable. And the second is a boom mic that is actually really sensitive and can be too loud, so you might want to change the settings. The recorded sound is very clear and has no background sound, though.

You can customize the design with Mod Kits, which are sold separately, and allow you to change the padding and covers of both the headband and earcups. You can also change the cables and upgrade the microphone. On the earcups of the 2nd generation model there are magnetized covers that allow you to make the headset open or closed. The build is very durable because its made of high quality plastics and metal. Plus, the customizations extend their lifespan.

They are as comfortable as any other headphone with the added benefits of being light and having big earpads that can accommodate any type of user. If you wear them for hours you’ll probably forget about them at some point.

If you want surround sound while using your PC, you’ll have to simulate it with software or use MixAmp Pro TR. The new model allows you to customize your sound and have your own equalizer presets. The stereo sound isn’t bad because the 1st generation has an open back design and have a decent soundstage. You’ll be able to hear your enemy without a problem. The sound quality for games is pretty good, it has a nice bass that makes the experience more immersive. However, they’re only decent when it comes to music.

9: Creative Sound BlasterX H5: Professional Gaming Headset

In the category of all-arounders Creative’s Sound BlasterX H5 is definitely going for the gold. When compared with headsets like the Cloud II, these are definitely a mighty contender. They are on par with comfort, the only drawback being its small frame that might be too tight on some heads. The design is simple and sturdy. They are light, have great compatibility and require no software. And the sound won’t disappoint audiophiles, both when gaming and when listening to music. Best of all, they are on the same price range of around $100.

Creative Sound BlasterX H5 Professional Gaming Headset

This headset has only analog connections that are compatible with any modern gaming platform be it PC, Mac, PS4, or Xbox One. If you have an older version you just need an adapter and you’re good.

The microphone is unidirectional and noise cancelling; it can be detached and it’s pretty flexible. It has a good recording quality without distortion or hissing, almost like a high-end product.

The design is very simple as well and sturdy and durable. The cables have a cloth cover to protect them, the ones attached to the headset have a button to mute the mic, play or pause your music, and change the volume, and they are detachable like the microphone. They leak very little noise and don’t let in too much noise.

In the comfort area these are on par with the beloved Cloud II. They have soft pleather earpads and are actually very light despite their bulky appearance. The cushions don’t seem to cause sweating, so you should be able to wear these for hours. If you have a big head they might prove to be a problem, though.

They might not have surround sound but their stereo sound quality is actually very good. It’s one of their best aspects. It has a balanced sound signature that focus on details, no thumping bass. The soundstage is very good, too, it could even compete with audiophile headphones. Yes, these not only fare well with music, they are great.

10: SteelSeries Siberia V2: Full-Size Gaming Headset

The Siberia V2 combines great comfort, a good microphone, good compatibility, good gaming and music sound quality all for an affordable price. Of course they can’t compare to high-end headsets or audiophile headphones, but this is another good example of value for money. If you’re on a budget, looking for something that has your needs well covered and is still below the $100 price range then you’ve come to the right place. Among its equals the Siberia V2 is definitely an option to consider. While the V3 model is already out, it isn’t as good as its predecessor and we recommend this one better.

SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full Size Gaming Headset

This headset has two plugs, one for the headphones and one for the mic, both of 3.5mm, which makes them compatible with PC and Mac, for both PS4 and Xbox One(unless you have the new controller), you’ll need adapters, though.

The pull-out microphone is good, not great, but it does its job. The recorded sound is easy to understand, and doesn’t have that much background noise or static.

The build is made of good materials, and its durability is just about average. You can’t expect the same high-quality other headsets feature for their relative budget price. They might not be built like a tank, but they’ll definitely survive for a few years. The simple design is open-back, which means people will be able to hear pretty much everything and that the outside noise gets in and bothers your immersion in the game’s world.

This headset has a suspension headband that helps make it light and the ear pads are big and thickly cushioned. It’s might not be very pretty but gaming headsets no longer keep in mind the aesthetics. In general they are very comfortable and you will be able to play for 8 hours or more.

They have a decent soundstage and good positional accuracy. You’ll be able to tell the direction your enemy is coming from, but not the height or how fast. However, they do a pretty good job in the music arena. They have a balanced sound, and even though it’s not very precise, it’s easy to get used to.

11: Sennheiser PC 363D:

Sennheiser PC 363D is definitely the best choice if you’re a hardcore PC gamer looking for the best features a gaming headset can offer. It might be pricey but it offers more than other headsets. They are extremely comfy and can accommodate different ears and heads. Also, these are light and durable. They have a high-quality microphone and a sound quality that is above any gaming headset. They are among the best PC gaming headsets out there. If you’re still not satisfied with the sound, the only way to upgrade is to get high-end headphones and combine them with an attachable microphone.

Sennheiser PC 363D Surround Sound Gaming Headset

The headset uses two 3.5mm plugs, which connect to a USB 3D surround card that ends in a USB port. To use them you’ll need to install a software that allows you to choose between 2, 4, 5.1, and 7.1 channel. You’ll have to sacrifice the surround sound if you’ll be using other consoles.

The high-quality boom microphone can compete with the best out there. It has noise cancelling technology that picks up just your voice. The sound is clear and has no background noise or distortions.

The built is made of good quality materials, not the best considering the price, but pretty sturdy and durable. Also the plastic structure make it very light. They have an open-back design that lets in outside noise and leaks quite a lot of sound. The volume control is on the right earcup but it has no mute button.

In this area they are on par with the Cloud II and even audiophile headphones. The headband is cushioned as well as the earpads which easily cover your ears let them breathe at the same time. Long gaming sessions won’t be a problem with these.

As mentioned before the surround sound will only work on your PC and you’ll have to install the software for it. Apart from that the soundstage is pretty decent due to its open-back design, the positional accuracy is pretty good, and the sound on its own is very detailed. As for music, the sound is pretty good, and better than other gaming headsets.

Best Gaming Headsets without Mic:

1: Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X: Best FPS Gaming Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X, if you’re a hardcore FPS gamer, these are your best choice, no doubts. For the price of about $100 you won’t get headsets or headphones with better sound quality. The soundstage has amazing depth and width no other headphones can compete with. It’s so easy to know where your enemies are that you’ll almost feel like you’re cheating. The biggest drawback though, is the open design that leaks noise and doesn’t keep the background sounds out. Since they have no microphone of their own, you’ll need to combine it with an attachable one that might complicate the connections to the gaming consoles. You might also want to try an amplifier to really get the best out of these headphones.

Audio Technica ATH-AD700X Audiophile Headphones

These have a 3.5mm jack that makes them compatible with PC, Mac and PS4. For Xbox One, you’ll need an adapter or the new controller to use them. Also, to use them with a microphone you’ll have to get a 3.5mm splitter.

The design is very similar to the older AD700 model. They feature a suspension headband, big cushioned earcups. They’re durable, but won’t last that long. They are well made, but the materials are not high-quality. They’re also open-back headphones and leak quite a lot of sound as well as let outside noise in.

They aren’t the most comfortable headphones out there, but are still pretty decent. They have big earcups and soft earpads, which can prove shallow. Some users might touch the drivers. They are very light and hold on to your head with very little pressure.

These headphones offer a monster soundstage that is pretty deep as well as wide. Their positional accuracy is superb as well coming in handy when you’re trying to discover where the enemy is in competitive games. These two are its best features and are in part due to the open design. The sound is very detailed and clear, too, more than you’d expect from $100 headphones. I assure you they will make you hear everything you’re supposed to be hearing. They are lacking in the bass area, both with gaming and music, which is a definite drawback for immersive gameplay. These are still one of the best choices if you have FPS games in mind, though.

2: Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro:

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro are among the best closed-back gaming headphones. They are a surprisingly good soundstage and positional accuracy, which tends to be a problem with this design. They have the added benefit of keeping your explosions and dramatic music private as well as protecting you from the outside, noisy world. They are very comfortable and will definitely stay with you for many years. They might prove a little heavy, though. The sound quality has a little too much bass, which is great for gaming but not so good for music. Bassheads will be pretty happy with these. They don’t have a microphone either, though most of them work well with these headphones, unless they require detachable cables. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro are pretty great, but if you want better soundstage while keeping the design, we recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro which are open-back and truly great for competitive playing.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro Gaming Headset

They have the standard 3.5mm plug compatible with PC, Mac, and PS4. Again, you’ll need a 3.5mm splitter if you want to combine them with a mic. You’ll also need an Xbox adapter to use them with the old Xbox controllers.

This headphones are made of thick and strong plastics and have a metal structure that make them very resistant and durable. Their bulk is not just for show though, which is a drawback. You can also choose between velour or pleather earpads. The design is closed-back which makes for good noise isolation, in fact they are one of the best in this arena. Once they’re on you’ll be completely cut off from the real world.

They are quite hefty but still comfortable. Depending on the version you buy you’ll get pleather or velour earpads, the latter offering more comfort. The earcups cover the ear completely without irritating them, but they might feel a little tight when you put them on for the first time.

Generally closed designs don’t have good soundstage, but these are an exception. They actually offer better depth and width than most surround sound gaming headsets. They have good positional accuracy that comes in handy with FPS games. They’re still not as good as open designs, but among their category they are one of the best. Since they excel at isolating sound and have a strong bass, these are great when it comes to immersion. They’re great for music though the bass is a bit too emphasized. If want to use them with an amplifier get the 250omh version, otherwise get the 80ohm version; it’s the most versatile. But if you’re going to plug them to a smartphone or MP3 player, then the best choice is the 32ohm version.

3: Philips Fidelio X2: High Definition Gaming Headset

The Philips Fidelio X2 are not only excellent for audiophiles, they are excellent for gaming. They simply have it all. Good quality build that will still last quite a long time even if you get the impulse of being rough on your $300 headphones. They are very comfy and the earpads are replaceable, which adds years to their lifespan. And you’ll be rediscovering your games as the soundstage and the clear detailed sound show you everything you should’ve been hearing. You can combine them with a ModMic 4.0 and create the ultimate gaming headset that has the best competitive advantage, audiophile sound quality (both music and games) and a great microphone. If you’re looking for high-quality, premium headphones and are willing to sacrifice the microphone, look no further, you’ve come to the right place.

Philips Fidelio X2 High Definition Gaming Headset

Just like most headphones these have a 3.5mm audio jack compatible with all gaming platforms, though you’ll need a splitter for PS4 and new Xbox One controller, if you have the old controllers you’ll need an adapter. You might need other adapters if you plan to combine them with a microphone.

The build has a lot of metal and high quality plastics, making them very durable and sturdy. These will easily live quite a few years. The open-back design improves the soundstage, but are very bad at noise isolation

These headphones feature a suspension headband that makes them feel very light. The earpads are big and soft, and, the best part, replaceable. Even though these weren’t made for gaming you’ll be able to wear them for hours without too much discomfort. The only drawback is that they might feel a little tight at the beginning, but the clamping force gets softer with time. Still, they are really comfortable.

This is its best feature. When it comes to soundstage the depth and width they offer is quite something. It’s also very sensitive and detailed, which will make it easy to spot your enemies. You will know the direction, but also the height the sound is coming from. With these too, you’re at a risk of feeling like you’re cheating at FPS games. The sound is so precise and accurate that you might even think it’s real, which helps with immersive gameplay. And, last but not least, the bass isn’t too emphasized making them great for music too.

4: Sennheiser HD 598:

The Sennheiser HD 598 are very similar to the PC 363D with the benefit of performing well with all gaming consoles. These are another good example of value for money with their durable build, their pretty comfy earpads and headband, and, the best characteristic, their high quality, audiophile sound that is great for gaming. The open design might leak noise, but also bring great acoustics to the sound and give depth and width to their soundstage. They even give an advantage to the user with their level of detail and positional accuracy. They come second only to the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X when it comes to competitive gameplay. However, the same audiophile sound quality present a balanced signature that isn’t too good for immersive playing. If the price of around $150 is still a bit too high for you, we recommend the Sennheiser HD 558 or Sennheiser HD 518 models that have similar gaming sound.

Sennheiser HD 598 Stylish Gaming Headset

They have a 3.5mm plug that’s compatible with most platforms without any adapters or other accessories, except for the Xbox One, which will require an adapter if you have an old controller. If you want to use them with a mic you’ll need to get a 3.5mm splitter.

They are pretty durable and is mostly made of quality plastics. The cables are rubber coated instead of cloth covered. The headphones are best for quiet places as their design is open and don’t have good noise isolation. They only come in beige or brown, though.

While the pleather headband is a drawback, these headphones are still very comfortable. The velour earpads cover the ears completely, but the pressure might be a little too tight in the beginning. It diminishes once you break them in. You will have no problem wearing these through you eight hour or more playing sessions.
